Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United.. Who will be the wineer? (part II)

In the remaining six games, Chelsea have to face one of the toughest rivals, Manchester United that still on the top of  Barclays English Premier League table with 72 points. Playing at Old Trafford, the club owned by Russian businessmen, Roman Abrahamovic must capitalize on two big advantages. The first one is the absence of Wayne Rooney, an attacker with the most goals in United's had ankle injury  after defeated against FC Hollywood at the Allianz Arena. The second advantage is the United players were in not fit condition after played in the European Champion League match a few days ago. Unfortunately, Chelsea's record at Old Trafford was not good. From 67 times to play at Old Trafford, the Blues won only 18 times, the series 22 times and lost 27 times. Last season, they must accepted defeat 3-0 after Nemanja Vidic, Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov scored each one goal.

The next opponent is Bolton Wanderers. Chelsea has a good record, especially when they played against Bolton at Stamford Bridge. Moreover, the Blues are now only focused on the Premier League and FA Cup. However Bolton can still make it difficult for Carlo Ancelotti’s squad because they are motivated to avoid relegation. Chelsea have won 22 times a game, the series 13 times and lost 11 times in 46 meetings with Bolton at Stamford Bridge. Last season they beat Bolton with big score, 4-0.

Chelsea also then have to face London rivals with The Lily Whites. This is certainly not an easy thing, The match will play at White Hart Lane and they are very motivated to win because their target to get one last ticket of the European Champion League zone next season. Chelsea were obliged to alert because last season they lost at the White Hart Lane after Luka Modric managed 1-0 score against Petr Cech.

Stoke City is one of the opponents the Blues are quite easy, especially those playing at Stamford Bridge. From four last game, Chelsea always got three points.

The Reds are opponents who predicted Chelsea would make it difficult road to become Premier League champions this season. Because Liverpool will be played at Anfield Stadium and will fight 100% to get three points so that the target entered European Champion League next season can be achieved. Although this season, Liverpool appear disappointing but they remain hard to beat especially Fernando Torres is in best condition and last season he scored two goals.

Chelsea’s final opponents in this season is Wigan Atletic. Chelsea were obliged to be careful dealing with this club since the last meeting, they managed to won 3-1 at The Stadium DW. Fortunely, the match will be played at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea predicted will reach three points.

So with six games remaining, Can Chelsea win the Premier League championship title this season? They remain a strong candidate because they can be more focus after losing from the European Champions League title race this season.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United .. Who will be the winner? (Part I)

There are still eight meetings remaining in Barclays Premier League. Manchester United still leads in the top of premier league table with 66 points. While Chelsea are in second place with 64 points but still have one game that has not been played. Arsenal is in third place with 64 points, the same points with Chelsea.

 
This makes the title race of English Premier League Championship became increasingly hot. But who will be the winner?

Manchester United are this winner of Carling cup in this season have to deal with Liverpool, Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea, Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Tottenham, Sunderland and Stoke City.

Statistical, Red Devils have a tough opponent like Liverpool, where the Reds for the last three meetings they always win and last season the Reds win 4-1 over United. While against Bolton, United predicted to achieve full points. But the next opponent, Chelsea  which is their toughest challengers. Although the game will play at Old Trafford but four days before it, the Red Devils have to face Bayern Munich in European Champions League.

Against Blackburn, Sir Alex Ferguson team is also predicted to achieve full points. But after that, they must meet with rivals Manchester City at the City of Manchester. This will be inconvenient for United because the team trained by Roberto Mancini ever gave heavy resistance at Old Trafford and beat Chelsea. Since 2006, United had only win once against The Citizens at City of Manchester.

Although Tottenham Hotspurs perform well this season but the last five meeting with The Red Devils, The Lily Whites always came home with no points.

United next opponent was The Black Cats. Although the need to play at The Stadium of Light, but some last meeting Manchester United are still favored to get the full points.

Barclays Premier League last week, Manchester United will be against Stoke City. United in the last three games are always got three points so the team coached by Tony Pullis predicted going home without points.

Manchester United even have to face opponents hard, but the team coached by Sir Alex Ferguson has a world-class talented player who is shining in this season, Wayne Rooney. He already produced 25 goals in English Premier League and become top scorer till this week. And the return of two world-class defender, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic from their injury will help the United to defend title this season. So may United retain title in the Barclays Premier League Championship this season?

Chamakh Reveals Premier League Trio Talks

Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has revealed that he has held talks with three Premier League clubs.

However, the Moroccan international has denied signing a pre-contract agreement with Arsenal.

The 26-year-old, who is available on a free transfer in the summer, admitted that he had been in contact with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

"Some said I have signed for Arsenal. I deny it categorically," he said.

"It's true there are contacts with English clubs, including Arsenal, but I deny there's a deal."

Chamakh added: "The more it goes, the less I see myself playing for Bordeaux next season."

While on Tuesday, Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez admitted that he is unlikely to sign Chamakh, stating: "I do not think we will sign him - but I will not say any more."

Chamakh has long been linked with Arsenal, who host Liverpool in the Premier League on Wednesday, but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger refused to be drawn on potential signings.

"We are talking to nobody," said the Frenchman. "We are focusing on the game against Liverpool.

"I believe he talks to many clubs, which he is entitled to do. Chamakh is free to sign a pre-contract, he is free to sign where he wants, but I cannot interfere in that."

Luka Modric Alami Patah Kaki

Tottenham Hotspur akan kehilangan salah satu bintangnya untuk waktu yang cukup lama setelah Luka Modrid dikabarkan mengalami patah kaki pada hari Sabtu lalu.

Modric yang cedera akibat baradu tackle dengan Lee Bowyer di menit awal babak kedua saat menang 2-1 atas Birmingham City di White Hart Lane terpaksa ditandu keluar dan digantikan stiker jangkung yang didatangkan dari Portsmouth, Peter Crouch.

Setelah pertandingan berakhir, Manajer Spurs, Harry Redknapp berharap pemain timnas Kroasia ini hanya mengalami cedera pada lututnya.

Namun setelah menjalani pemeriksaan radiologi, tampak patah pada tulang fibula kanan gelandang Kroasia ini dan mengharuskannya absen untuk beberapa bulan ke depan. Klub belum bisa memastikan berapa lama Modric akan kembali merumput.

Cedera ini merupakan kerugian besar untuk Spurs, pasalnya pemain ini dianggap sebagai kunci permainan Spurs sehingga berhasil meraih 100% kemenangan liga premier di musim ini.

Hal ini tentunya dapat mendorong Redknapp untuk berspekulasi di bursa transfer sebelum tutup hari Selasa demi mencari pelapis Modric.

Kabar buruk juga dialami Ledley King yang mengalami cedera saat berhadapan dengan Birmingham. Redknapp mengakui bahwa squadnya sekarang akan dilapisi oleh Michael Dawson dan Jonatha Woodgate untuk sementara waktu.

Pavlyuchenko Gerah di White Hart Lane

Striker Russia, Roman Pavlyuchenko yang bermain di Spurs memberikan sinyal akan hengkang setelah dia kehilangan tempatnya di tim utama.

Stiker usia 27 tahun tersebut tiba di White Hart Lane setahun lalu dengan bandrol 13.8 juta poundsterling dan berhasil mengoleksi 14 gol dalam perjalanannya sepanjang liga premier musim lalu. Namun dia kini lebih sering dibangku cadangkan setelah Redknapp lebih memilih menduetkan Jermaine Defoe dengan Robbie Keane atau dengan striker jangkung timnas Inggris, Peter Crouch.

Sejauh ini, striker yang tampil menawan saat Russia tampil di EURO 2008 ini hanya mencicipi beberapa menit bermain saat Tottenham bertemu Liverpool di laga awal.

“Tidak seorang pesepakbola yang ingin dibangkucadangkan terus.” ujar Pavlyuchenko di Sport Express di Russia. “Saya dapat kehilangan tempat di timnas Russia dalam World Cup 2010 mendatang.”

“Saya siap pindah ke klub lain.”

Klub raksasa Italia, AS Roma dikabarkan sedang mengamati Pavlyuchenko. Begitupula mantan klubnya dahulu, Spartak Moscow.

49 Tahun Penantian Spurs

Manajer Tottenham, Harry Redknapp yakin dapat menembus empat besar setelah tim asuhannya berhasil memecahkan rekor kemenangan dalam tiga laga pertama di kancah liga premier sejak 49 tahun yang lalu.

Gol Aaron Lennon saat menang 2-1 atas West Ham hari minggu (23/08/09) memperpanjang kemenangan Tottenham dalam tiga laga pertama dan mengantarkan mereka untuk sementara menjadi pemuncak klasemen Barclays Premier League.

Hal ini adalah prestasi terbaik Spurs sejak 1960-1961 saat mereka meraih double winner dengan mengoleksi juara liga dan FA Cup.

Redknapp menolak disamakan dengan manajer Spurs saat itu Bill Nicholson, namun dia yakin tim asuhannya berpotensi untuk membuat sejarah baru dan dapat menembus Champions League.

“Sembilan poin adalah awal yang luar biasa bagi kami.” Kata Redknapp. “Namun kami belum dapat disamakan dengan tim saat era 1961 atau 1962. Saat itu adalah prestasi yang sangat fantastis.”

“Saat itu kami punya Bill Nicholson sebagai manajer, Dave Mackay dan Danny Blanchflowes yang bermain untuk kami. Dave Mackay dihitung tiga orang bukan satu orang.”

“Kami sekarang punya beberapa pemain bagus, tapi mereka saat itu punya tim yang luar biasa dan fantastis. Saat itu adalah saat yang special dalah sejarah klub, waktu yang sudah lama. Jika kami dapat sebagus mereka, kami akan baik-baik saja.”

“Siapa yang menyangka apa yang dapat kami raih? Saya tidak mengatakan kami akan berakhir di empat besar. Namun kami punya kualitas yang baik dan kami akan meraih target itu.”

“Ini akan menjadi musim yang penuh persaingan. Manchester City akan berjuang untuk meraih empat besar dan tidak ada alasan kami tidak dapat melakukan hal yang sama.”

Kubu Redknapp sempat dikejutkan oleh gol tuan rumah empat menit babak kedua melalui Carlton Cole yang melakukan tendangan volley dari jarak 25 yard dan berhasil menembus jala gawang Carlo Cudicini.

Cole gagal menjadi pahlawan malam itu setelah Jermain Defoe berhasil menyamakan kedudukan. Gol indah mantan The Hammers tersebut dielu-elukan fans tuan rumah.

Kemenangan terjadi 11 menit sebelum pertandingan usai setelah Aaron Lennon berhasil membobol gawang yang dikawal Robert Green.

Manajer The Hammers sekaligus mantan bintang Chelsea, Gianfranco Zola tampaknya belum puas dengan penampilan Cole dalam lini penyerangan dan masih berhasrat untuk mendatangkan Marouane Chamakh dari Bordeaux.

Namun Zola berkata “Saya piker West Ham bukanlah tim satu-satunya yang menginginkan dirinya. Masih ada beberapa tim yang berminat padanya.”

Zola percaya dana hasil penjualan bek James Collins yang rencananya akan ke Stoke dapat digunakan untuk mendatangkan Chamakh.

“Masih ada yang tertarik padanya (Collins), namun Stoke yang saya tahu.” Ujar Zola.

“Dalam lini pertahanan kami punya delapan pemain yang dapat dimainkan. Dalam lini penyerangan saya hanya punya pilihan Carlton Cole atau saya. Kami punya dua pemain muda yang tampil baik, namun mereka masih butuh waktu.”

Kubu Zola juga terkejut dengan berita bek Calum Davenport yang sedang dirawat di ICU setelah mengalami insiden kedua kakinya ditikam.

“Kami berduka dengan apa yang terjadi.” Ujar manajer asal Italia tersebut. “Situasi akan jelas dalam beberapa hari ke depan. Yang terpenting sekarang adalah semoga dia baik-baik saja.”

“Kami masih belum bias percaya dengan apa yang kami dengar. Anda pun tidak akan berharap kejadian seprti ini terjadi terutama pada orang yang anda kenali.”

Jermain Defoe Beri Kemenangan Spurs

Jermain Defoe menutup pertandingan pembuka Barclays Asia Trophy melawan West Ham dengan menyarangkan gol satu-satunya di pertandingan ini pada menit ke 75.

Spurs mendominasi laga semifinal dengan penampilan impresif.

Pada pertandingan ini, pemain sayap the Hammers Luis Boa Morte terpaksa ditandu keluar setelah mendapatkan cedera lutut di menit ke 11.

Kedua klub ini bertanding di Workers Stadium di Beijing sebagai pertandingan pembuka Barclays Asia Trophy.

The Hammers didukung pemain pinjaman Luis Jimenez untuk membantu Carlton Cole dalam sektor penyerangan, begitu juga Spurs yang mengandalkan duet Roman Pavlyuchenko dan Jermain Defoe di lini depan.

Crouch Resmi Berseragam Spurs

Totenham Hotspur resmi mengontrak striker jangkung timnas Inggris Peter Crouch (tanpa menyebutkan nilai transfer).

Pemain timnas Inggris ini telah menjalani pemeriksaan medis dan setuju untuk bekerjasama dengan Harry Redknapp yang akan menjadi pelatihnya ketiga kali setelah sebelumnya bersama di Portsmouth dan Southampton.

Crouch akan kembali bertemu dengan Jermain Defoe yang menjadi rekan setimnya saat masih di Fratton Park.
“Kami bersedih melihat Peter pergi dan kami berterimakasih kepadanya karena telah menjadi kunci Portsmouth bertahan di Premier League musim lalu.” Kata the Pompey.
“Penjualannya diharuskan sebagai komitmen klub untuk membayar utang yang telah jatuh tempo.”
“Sekarang yang akan kami lakukan adalah mencari pemain baru untuk tim inti kami sesegera mungkin.”
Striker yang kini berusia 28 tahun ini akhirnya pindah ke Spurs setelah sebelumnya sempat dikabarkan akan pindah ke sunderland.
Crouch sebenarnya sudah setuju untuk bermain bersama th Black Cats, namun akhirnya gagal terealisasi akibat keinginannya untuk kembali bermain di klub selatan Inggris.
Kepindahan Peter Crouch merupakan lingkaran karirnya sebab karirnya diawali di White Hart Lane sebelum pindah ke Queens Park Ranger dengan nilai transfer £60,000 dan mencetak 12 gol dari 47 penampilannya.
Striker yang memiliki tinggi 6.7 kaki ini sebelumnya pernah bergabung dengan Aston Villa pada maret 2002, kemudian pindah ke Southampton di musim 2004/05. Penampilannya di St Mary’s selama semusim dengan mencetak 16 gol dari 33 penampilan membuat Liverpool tertarik untuk membawanya ke Anfield.

Crouch menjalani 132 penampilannya di Merseyside dan mencetak 40 gol sebelum pindah ke Portsmouth pada juli 2008.
Pemain timnas ini berhasil memborong 16 gol di semua kompetisi ketika masih berseragam Portsmouth kedua kali musim lalu dan menghasilkan 19 gol dalam 39 penampilan saat berseragam Portsmouth pertama kali bulan juli 2001.
